Htoo Tay Za
Build systems. Test science. Ship with intent.
Selected work
Research proposals, AI infrastructure, and science outreach. Each one has a different surface, but the operating system is the same: define the problem, test the claim, ship the result.
Physics & Research
Project Lead
CERN proposal on biopolymer radiation shielding for Martian applications.
Education & Outreach
Project Lead & Founder
U.S. State Department–funded hands-on science workshop for young researchers.
Software & Engineering
Author & Maintainer
Async non-blocking hierarchical memory for LLM agents.
What I bring to the table
Automation, APIs, and AI tooling built around constraints, observability, and clean handoffs.
Simulation-heavy physics work, experiment design, and documentation that can be reviewed by serious teams.
Able to translate between students, researchers, technical teams, and institutional partners.

About
Engineering meets experimentation.
I'm Htoo Tay Za — Jackmann on the tech side. I build production software, design physics experiments, and lead teams that turn scientific ideas into real outcomes.
My work spans two worlds: backend systems and AI infrastructure on one side, and high-energy physics research and science education on the other. I don't treat them as separate — rigorous measurement, clear documentation, and shipping with restraint apply to both.
As Founding Engineer at The Column Myanmar, I lead engineering delivery for clients across schools, media organizations, and NGOs. As Co-Founder and R&D Officer at Fact Hub Myanmar, I direct technical operations for a scientific literacy platform serving millions of users — internal tooling used daily by a 50+ person team, plus automation systems that run reliably in production.
I'm studying BSc Electrical Engineering at Óbuda University in Hungary, alongside a BSc in Computer Science at University of the People — deepening the hardware and systems foundation that already shapes how I build software and design experiments.

Founding Engineer
The Column MyanmarLead the engineering team delivering customized software solutions for clients across schools, media organizations, and NGOs. Own technical delivery end to end — architecture, development, and rollout — translating client requirements into production systems.
Co-Founder & R&D Officer
Fact Hub MyanmarBuilt and maintain the full-stack website and internal management systems used daily by a 50+ person team, powering a scientific literacy platform that reaches millions of readers across Myanmar. Architected a Google Apps Script automation framework with a reactive state machine for content lifecycle management, sustaining 99%+ uptime. Established verification and peer-review frameworks and directed R&D initiatives to combat scientific misinformation at scale.
Software Engineer
Freelance, Open Source (Jackmann)Author and maintainer of Sawtooth Memory, AlphaRag, and AI Pipeline Toolkit. Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI infrastructure released as open source — async memory layers, hybrid retrieval systems, and multi-agent orchestration — each with evaluation pipelines and measured benchmarks. Ship end-to-end products independently, owning backend architecture, database design, CI/CD, and deployment.
Contact
Open to collaborations, research partnerships, contract work, and ambitious science education projects.
